To commemorate the visit of Brad Smith*, President of Microsoft Corporation, to Japan, we will hold an exchange event with students for a Q&A session on “The Future Enabled by Trustworthy Digital Technology” on Friday, April 21 (hybrid event). With all the focus on generative AI, there is a growing interest in the advancement of digital technology and its societal impact. In his book “Tools and Weapons,” Brad Smith states, “When technology changes the world, we have a responsibility to respond to the world it creates.” We will discuss with participants the issues that need to be addressed in order for AI and other digital technologies to be provided in a reliable manner. The discussion will include issues related to the reliable delivery of AI and other digital technologies.
